Dennis Nagy

Dennis Nagy was appointed acting director for an interim period from September 1991 to November 1991, and is the first civilian to serve in that capacity. During his tenure, he provided continuity during a critical time when decrements against Agency resources caused reconsideration of many managerial issues and review of traditional threat priorities throughout the Intelligence Community. He served until Lt. Gen. James Clapper Jr. assumed the directorship in November 1991.
