WHAT: Defense Intelligence Agency Director Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn will host a building dedication ceremony to honor U.S. Army Colonel James Nicholas Rowe at 10:30 a.m. May 2 at DIA Field Support Activity Rivanna Station.
Colonel Rowe was held as a prisoner of war in Vietnam for more than five years, after which he served with intelligence agencies and became involved in the nearly decade-long program to penetrate the New People’s Army, the communist insurgency that threatened the Philippine government. Colonel Rowe was killed April 21, 1989, in the Philippines when his vehicle came under fire by the New People’s Army.
