DIA Cuban Missile Crisis Briefing

Using overhead reconnaissance photography, DIA's John Hughes, Special Assistant to DIA Director Lt Gen Carroll, conducts a televised briefing on the removal of Soviet missiles from Cuba, February 6, 1963. McNamara asked Hughes to give the briefing in order to quell rumors that the Soviets still had nuclear missiles in Cuba. Hughes later recieved a personal note of thanks from President Kennedy.
