Deputy Director for Strategic Integration

Major General Harry E. Miller, Jr. is the Deputy Director for Strategic Integration and the Mobilization Assistant to the Director, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Washington, D.C. In addition to representing the Director at various Intelligence Community forums, MG Miller is also the principal advisor to the Director regarding the effective integration and employment of over 1200 Reserve forces supporting DIA from across the services.  Further, he is the Director of the Reserve Integration Office.

General Miller assumed command of the 42nd Infantry (Rainbow) Division, New York Army National Guard, on 12 April 2013. As Division Commander, he has Alignment for Training responsibility for the 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in New Jersey, the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Vermont, the 197th Fires Brigade in New Hampshire, the 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade in Massachusetts, as well as the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, the 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade and the 369th Sustainment Brigade from New York. General Miller is responsible for preparing units for combat missions overseas and domestic emergencies within New York State.

General Miller received his commission in May 1980 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Washington and Jefferson College. After receiving his commission he served on active duty for over twelve-years with assignments to the 1st Armored Division, the 82nd Airborne Division, and the 1st Special Forces Group. In 1995 General Miller joined the New Hampshire National Guard where he most recently served as Commander, 54th Troop Command, Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel (G1), and Director of Operations (J3). His first General Officer assignment was as Director of Doctrine, Training, and Force Development (J7) on the Joint Staff, National Guard Bureau. General Miller has served two combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his first tour he was assigned to the Iraq Assistance Group as the senior advisor to Iraqi Security Forces along the Iraq/Iran border. During his second tour he served with the 5th Special Forces Group and the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Arabian Peninsula as the senior advisor/LNO to the Multinational Corps -Iraq. From September 2010 to January 2012, he served as Senior Commander, Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division (Rear). He most recently served as Assistant Adjutant General - Army, New York National Guard.
