Commission Approves ICC-Bethesda Building Renovations

By DIA Public Affairs

On March 6 the National Capital Planning Commission approved preliminary and final building plans submitted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the renovation of Erskine and Roberdeau Halls at the Intelligence Community Campus-Bethesda.

The Defense Intelligence Agency is the executive agent for the campus renovation, serving on behalf of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The campus will be the new home to the National Intelligence University and elements of the following intelligence community organizations: selected staff elements of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the National Counterintelligence Executive, the National Media Exploitation Center, and a DIA human resource activity. These organizations will be phased into the campus as the existing buildings are systematically renovated and ready for occupancy.

The day prior to NCPC’s decision, several commissioners, members of the intelligence community and engineers from the Army Corps of Engineers toured the campus. NCPC Chairman Preston Bryant commented that ICC-B is “a great example of an agency working with a very engaged neighborhood … and the product is good.”
