Former National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft delivered a masterfully strategic overview of national security issues to students and faculty at the NIU main campus recently. Scowcroft, a retired Air Force general, is the only American to have served as national security advisor in two different administrations under Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush.
Scowcroft's remarks were the most recent highlight of the university's weekly speaker series, which features an impressive slate of notable leaders and experts to supplement the classroom experience for graduate and undergraduate students.
