The Defense Intelligence Agency’s coaching program was celebrated as one of five finalists for the International Coach Federation PRISM award during a ceremony in Prague, Czech Republic, Oct. 25.
The PRISM award honors businesses and organizations with coaching programs that fulfill rigorous, professional standards, address key strategic goals, shape organizational culture and yield discernible and measurable positive impacts.
“We are celebrating organizations that meet stringent criteria for having a strong coaching culture,” said Magdalena Mook, ICF CEO and executive director. “These organizations make a difference for their employees and all stakeholders. They are the advocates of professional coaching. We salute them.”
Along with the “Excellence in Practice Award” from the Association for Talent Development, this is the second distinguished honor that DIA’s coaching program has received in less than a year.
“These awards represent DIA’s commitment to developing DIA officers,” said Theodora Fitzsimmons, head of DIA's coaching program. “While coaching is openly available to any DIA officer, there is an integrated approach to coaching and learning in the Officer Development Program, leading to better retention of learning.”
DIA has trained more than 330 coaches using an ICF-approved training program. Nearly 200 are fully certified, and many have also received a credential from the ICF.
The ICF is an association dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high ethical standards, providing independent certification and building a worldwide network of credentialed coaching across a variety of disciplines.
