Message from the Director

In the last few weeks, we have seen COVID-19, commonly referred to as the Coronavirus, spread from nation to nation. The fast-moving pace of this virus and the potential for a pandemic situation necessitate a steady and reliable single point of information to obtain the most comprehensive picture of what is happening across the globe.

There have been a lot of questions surrounding COVID-19, from symptom assessment to travel guidance. This webpage will serve as a collection point for the answers to those questions as we release up-to-date information and guidance on the progression of the virus and provide a better understanding of the COVID-19 situation.

In times like these, when uncertainty lends itself to panic, it is important to remain calm and stay informed. We will continue pushing updates as we get them. Use the information, communicate the facts with your loved ones, and keep asking questions.

Thank you for helping us take care of each other as we address this situation.

LTG Robert P. Ashley, Jr.
Director, Defense Intelligence Agency

  • Guidelines for DIA Employees

Employees diagnosed with COVID-19 based on a positive laboratory test or presumptively based on a medical provider’s clinical assessment must follow the guidance and criteria provided to them by their medical provider regarding medical clearance to return to work because each case is unique. Employees do not pose additional risks to others once medically cleared by their medical providers. Once medically cleared by their provider, employees must contact the Office of the Surgeon General (OSG) for medical clearance to return to work at a DIA Facility.

How to contact OSG and get cleared:
Employees or supervisors on behalf of their employees may request medical clearance by sending an email on NIPR to:  Medical_clinic@dodiis.mil or DIASurgeonGeneral@dodiis.mil. Include the employee's name and a contact information. OSG will call the employee back.

Supervisors are also able to send an email on JWICS on behalf of their employees:  DIAOHR6.MedicalClinic@coe.ic.gov or DIASurgeonGeneral@coe.ic.gov. Include the employee's name and a contact information. OSG will call the employee back.

Those employees without NIPR access will need to call 202-231-2609.
