Acquisition Executive (AE)
DIA’s Office of the Acquisition Executive (AE) includes teams of experienced contracting officers and contracting specialists who monitor acquisition laws, regulations, policies and best practices to train and guide the agency for acquisition excellence. The goal of our acquisition professionals is to ensure we find the right solutions at fair and reasonable prices.
DIA’s Competition Advocate has the following responsibilities and functions:
Serves as our principal advisor to the Senior Procurement Executive on matters relating to fair competition
Helps develop our acquisition policy
Reviews acquisition plans and processes to ensure that public funds are used according to applicable statute and regulation
Participates in major acquisition strategy working groups
Serves as our market research focal point at regular meetings with industry representatives
Serves as Ombudsman for task order contracts and as DIA’s official to solve disputes under the Alternative Contract Dispute Resolution clause
Acts as the Commercial Advocate, provide assistance and guidance for market research and methods to find commercial solutions for DIA’s requirements.
