It’s been over a year since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic. The days, weeks and months following that announcement profoundly altered the way we live, conduct business and view the world around us — but we have never been deterred from our mission.

As we continue to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 and its variants, I encourage each of you to pay careful attention to the information on this webpage. Here, you can find the most up-to-date DIA policies and guidance on how to continue safely navigating the pandemic.

I want to thank each of you for your resiliency, flexibility and adaptability during these unprecedented times. What I have witnessed as we’ve maneuvered through the unknowns of this pandemic is nothing short of inspirational. Our unwavering commitment to excellence in defense of our Nation will ensure a bright future for our Agency.

Guidelines for DIA Employees
Regardless of vaccination or prior infection status, DIA employees must not enter any DIA facility if they are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, have exhibited COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days, or have tested positive for COVID-19. Please refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website for an up-to-date list of COVID-19 symptoms. If an employee falls into one of these categories, they must immediately notify their supervisor and begin quarantine. The employee will then be contacted by a representative from the Office of the Surgeon General.

If an employee is not fully vaccinated and they have close contact with an individual who has COVID-19 (symptomatic or confirmed cases), they must immediately notify their supervisor and begin quarantine. DIA defines close contact as being within 6 feet of an individual with COVID-19 for 10 minutes continuously or 15 minutes cumulatively during a 24-hour period, regardless of whether masks were worn or not. Fully vaccinated is defined as being 2 weeks post-second vaccine in a two-dose series (e.g., Moderna or Pfizer) or 2 weeks post-vaccination in a single-dose vaccine (i.e., Johnson & Johnson).

Employees returning from OCONUS locations must not enter DIA facilities if they are not fully vaccinated. The employee must notify their supervisor immediately upon return and begin quarantine.

If employees become symptomatic during quarantine, the employee must contact the OSG Call Center at 202-231-2609 as soon as possible. Fully vaccinated employees who are not exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms and have notbeen diagnosed with or tested positive for COVID-19 are not required to quarantine under current guidance. All quarantined employees must contact OSG to request medical clearance prior to returning to work.

Employees and supervisors can contact OSG by calling 202-231-2609. Supervisors cannot request medical clearance on behalf of their employees..
