DIA Game Day at Nationals Stadium
Nearly 1,200 DIA employees and their friends and families attended DIA Day at Nationals Park to celebrate the agency's 50th anniversary with the Washington Nationals.
The game started off with a presentation by DIA's Color Guard. The national anthem was sung by the West Point Alumni Glee Club, of which retired DIA Director LTG Harry Soyster is a member.
DIA Director LTG Ronald Burgess handed the ball to Nationals pitcher Chien-Ming Wang to start the game against the Atlanta Braves. Wang closed his season out with this game, allowing only one home run on four hits in six innings, and leading the Nationals to a 4-1 win over the Braves.
DIA is the nation’s premier all-source military intelligence organization.
It provides the nation’s most authoritative assessments of foreign military intentions and capabilities. The agency’s four core competencies -- human intelligence, all-source analysis, counterintelligence and technical intelligence -- enable military operations while also informing policy-makers at the defense and national levels.
DIA’s mission is unique and no other agency matches its military expertise across such a broad range of intelligence disciplines.
