SA-2, unknown artist, 1978. The SA-2 “Guideline” is a low-to-high altitude surface-to-air missile system that has been in service for over 50 years. The missile gained fame in 1960
when the Soviets shot down U-2 pilot Gary Powers, precipitating an international crisis. Thirty-six countries continue to employ the SA-2, including Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and
Pakistan. (DIA Military Art Collection)
