Chief Master Sergeant Roddy D. Hartsook
Senior Enlisted Advisor
Chief Hartsook grew up in Ramona, Oklahoma, and entered the Air Force in March 1984. He completed Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, TX, and technical training at Goodfellow AFB, TX. His background includes duties in Intelligence, Information Operations, and Airborne Electronic Combat (MC-130) Operations.
Chief Hartsook has had numerous assignments including the 6918th Electronic Security Squadron, Sembach Air Base, Germany; 6906th Electronic Security Squadron, Brooks AFB, TX; 390th Information Operations Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan; 694th Operational Support Squadron, Fort Meade, MD; 25th Information Operations Squadron, Hurlburt Field, FL; 67th Information Warfare Flight, Scott AFB, IL; Headquarters USAF, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.; 732nd Expeditionary Intelligence Squadron, Joint Base Balad, Iraq; 72nd Mission Support Group, Tinker AFB, OK; and most recently as the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 79th Medical Wing, Joint Base Andrews-Naval Air Facility Washington, MD. Chief Hartsook became the 16th senior enlisted advisor for the Defense Intelligence Agency on 27 July 2011.
Chief Hartsook's military education includes the Noncommissioned Officer Preparatory School, Noncommissioned Officer Leadership School, Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Information Operations Integration Course, Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Chiefs Leadership Course, Greenbelt Training, and the AFSO21 Senior Leaders Course. Chief Hartsook has also completed the Gettysburg Leadership Experience, Center for Creative Leadership's Development Course, and the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business Enterprise Management Seminar. Chief Hartsook has earned an Associate Degree in Communications Application Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.
Chief Hartsook's personal awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Air Force Aircrew Badge and the Air Force Staff Identification Badge. Chief Hartsook holds many other honors and distinctions including NCO Preparatory Course Distinguished Graduate, Air Intelligence Agency Sensor Olympics Bronze Medalist in 1992 and 1994, NCO Academy Commandant's Award and Distinguished Graduate, Association of Old Crows Defensive Information Award, Honor Graduate, Information Operations Integration Course, 2003 Senior NCO Academy Distinguished Graduate, and the 2003 Air Force Information Operations Senior NCO of the Year.
Chief Hartsook is married to the former Denise Pecchia of Detroit, Michigan. They have two sons, Dean (23) and Kyle (21), a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.
