IA Mission
The Information Assurance organization fulfills the independent testing and certification requirement for systems and Intelligence Mission Applications (IMAs), defines policy, implements an overarching enterprise IA program, and manages the Information Assurance Program for the DoD SCI community. Provides technical oversight and guidance at all levels with a principal advisor role to the CIO on IT fielding decisions, secure communications and network issues for DIA and the Defense Intelligence Community information infrastructure.

IA Functions
The Information Assurance organization performs several different types of functions. To list a few, IA is responsible for:
- Developing and disseminating information systems security policies, processes, and training requirements in partnership with DoD elements and IC community partners.
- The development of the DoDIIS Enterprise IA Architecture.
- Coordinating the efforts of ITA activities throughout the IC community to include the development of processes, assessing resource effectiveness, and the generation / implementation of metrics.
- Providing oversight and management of Site Based Accreditation process in DoDIIS.
